Program Note (Final)...

Hate to say it, but after two-and-a-half years of trying to keep up with this website, I am burned out, cooked, done, finito. Well, not really, but I just don't have the time anymore to do this thing properly, and I'd rather not just mail it in. Plus, it's time to head in a new direction and develop other novel means of wasting time while amusing myself. Thanks to all the loyal readers and tipsters. There are plenty of other blogs out there now bringing you the latest in extreme adventure and video, so keep on clicking. It was fun while it lasted. Have a nice life...

"Ahh. Time to go surfing..."

You've done good work Tim, you should be proud.

Let me guess, you're actually going to start campaigning your J/22???

Tim, can you suggest any similar sites that you have enjoyed? We know that they would be the same mix, but nothing will probably compare to your one-stop, wet ass shop.

Look forward to catching up soon.

Best,

Wait a minute; you just can't bail on us!! Sure, the first one is free - build up the addiction, then, bang!! Cut us off cold turkey. OK, where's the hook. A for-fee subscription? Send in cash or it's toast? Name your first-born "Tim"? What will it take?

Tim,
You gave us a little this, and a little of that which kept things alive, funky, and at times even a bit edgy. Great mix.
In wetass style, may the wind always be right on your nose.....
By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:39 PM
Tim,

Sorry to see that you're leaving us. A lot of people are going to have to find something to do with their free time now that you’re gone. Hopefully it will be some wetass time!

Your site had a wide area of focus, not just one subject (other than wetass schtuff) and was a place to find stories of diverse subject matter relating to sailing, scuba diving, hang gliding, parachuting, skiing, kayaking, etc, etc. To coin a few words from the meaning of a wetass "if you are a person whose ass is frequently wet, a person who frequently thinks or says "Oh man, my ass is wet," then you are probably outside a lot, engaged in challenging, intense, asswetting adventures. In other words, having a wet ass, despite the discomfort, means you are having a hell of a time. And if you are not willing to get your ass wet every once in a while, you are probably not living hard enough, getting out there enough, or having enough fun."

Well we’ve all had a hell of a time with you. Good luck in your endeavors, we’ll miss the daily doses.

Hope to see you around the bay this summer, I’ll buy you a few beers and a steak!

Regards,

Uncle Bob
By Anonymous Uncle Bob, at 6:01 PM
Git! You can't go! If it's 2.5 years you've been here then I've been following your damn site since you started, I never realised. Which is all the more reason why you can't just jack it in!

Sorry, I'm in shock. OK then, I guess we will have to let you stop. Grudgingly. This has been without a doubt the best website/blog I have ever followed, no other has been worthy of almost daily checking.

Take care dude
By Anonymous Dennis, at 6:07 PM

Thanks Tim! You have made a lot of people smile and have opened their minds to many experiences they would have never come across in their normal lives. The "Wet-Ass" way of life will be carried on by your loyal readers for many years to come. Your true excitement and appreciation for all forms of extreme living is what makes TWC stand out and any imitators will have a lot to live up to.

Will miss to browse around this library of wetassing!
By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:51 AM
Sorry to see you go Tim. Pure community sites like yours, with good photo & video content and the much important humorous presence of the webmaster are always apreciated when it is time to go. Look at the number of answers to your goodbye post. You should be proud of your work and reconsider...
I will miss browsing at Wetass, and linking to your clip of the week in my Web Diamonds page.

Keep having fun

Tim - We'll have to make sure "wetass" gets in the Wiki thing; a great word for a great lifestyle. As many others have said, this is a site I visit daily and always find something worth passing along to my buddies.
I hope the site will be up for awhile so we can all scavenge the goodies...?
cheers,

Fantastic site, just about the only site that I'd check out everyday. Very sorry to see it close, especially since this is one website for which I'd pay a subscription - the content is an effective antidote to office life! Thanks for the hard work you have obviously put into the site, it will be sorely missed.
By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:00 AM
Tim -

You've built up quite a following here...perhaps you should leverage that somehow rather than simply shut the site down? Sell some advertising, change the format to open blogs, whatever. If not, then thanks for everything. Do come and sail an IC sometime - we sail out of West River Sailing Club in Annapolis.

Rgds,

By Anonymous Lucian Beebe, at 10:20 PM
Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. The Wetass Chronicles have served me well by keeping up with my favorite personal combo of competitive sailing and surfing. What other website brings these two together with such a keen eye? Thanks for a great job, you'll be missed.
By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:33 PM
As a yacht broker and surfer, I have enjoyed everything you have offered. Yours was the only site that kept me up to date on new sailing events as well as great surf news. Your dedication to "wetasses" around the world will truly be missed. Good luck with all of your future plans and endeavours, hope to someday see you on the water!
