Tips to help your child adjust on her first day at school

Posted on June 13, 2018July 31, 2018 by admin

No matter the age of your child, the one thing for sure is that she is going to get nervous on her first day at school. What you need to bear in mind here is that both kindergarten and preschool going children tend to have completely different means of dealing with their fears. However, the one thing that is common between them both is that they are going to school for the first time and know nothing about schools. The concept is literally unknown to them. While you as a parent would know what school is going to be like for your little ones, there is no way that they would be able to figure anything out. It is this lack of information that deems it impossible for them to calm down when going to a preschool in Dubai. When you try to talk to them, their sole reactions are crying.

Now, considering that you are the parent of a child who is going to her school for the very first time, it is necessary for you to calm her down. Here is how:

Consider taking classroom tours with your kid

The number one element that you should consider is that there is a need for you to take a classroom tour along with your baby. Sit along in her classes and see whether you think she will be comfortable or not.  The best part is that sitting in on her class for the first day can go a long way in terms of helping her settle into new things. You need to remember that children tend to be a lot more comfortable with people who she sees on a regular basis. Having you around in class for a day or so will actually help her get used to her surroundings and make friends with other children. The number of books and toys around her at her nursery in jumeirah village circle will also assist her in relaxing.

Read out a book

To help her calm down a bit a night before, it is highly recommended for you to read out a few books to your children. This will go a long way in calming her down. If possible, try to get her jigsaw puzzles as well so she can stay busy.

Your child might need to be taken home

There is always the chance that your little one will collapse completely once you even suggest the idea of leaving. In such situations, it is best for the parent to take the child home. When you reach home, give her a bath and assure her that you will always be there.
